Things Aren’t Always What They Seem…

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family.

The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion’s guest room. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement.

As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.

When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, Things aren’t always what they seem”

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife.

After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night’s rest.

When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears.

Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen?

The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die..

“Things aren’t always what they seem,” the older angel replied.

“When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall.

Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn’t find it.”

“Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife I gave him the cow instead.

Things aren’t always what they seem.”

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don’t turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every out come is always to your advantage. You just might not know it until some time later…

Life’s Life Segment

Mathematicians say LIFE is like a line segment drawn from point B to point D. What is point B to point D?

It’s from point of Birth(B) to point of Death(D). So life starts from the moment we are Born(B) until the day we Die(D).

But in the middle of B(Birth) and D(Death) is a mysterious C. What is C then?It is CHRIST.

If we put Christ in the middle of our life(Birth—>Christ—>Death) our life will not end at D but extend to E.

What is E? It’s Eternal Life.

So all those who put Christ in the middle of their life have Eternal life after Death

But those who do not put Christ in the middle of their lives don’t have Eternal life after Death but they have F(Fire).

Definition of Life For Christians:

B——->C——->D——->E

Birth     Christ   Death   Eternal Life. Definition Of Life For Unbelievers:

B——->D——->F

Birth     Death    Fire

Any one that avoids C must surely lose E

RAISING YOUR VOICE WON’T HELP, IMPROVE YOUR ARGUMENT!

This morning as I was going about my daily routine, I witnessed a scene that got me thinking about the relationship between the so-called mighty people and the weak.

A street hawker with her wares on her head was almost accidentally knocked down by a driver revving his vehicle rather carelessly.
It took the vigilance of the hawker to avoid being run over by the car, but in the process she threw her ware to the curb.

Realizing her loss, as she couldn’t confront the driver who apparently is a big shot judging by the make of his car and the licence plate, the poor hawker held her head between the palms of her two hands and begun sobbing rather hysterically.

As if that wasn’t enough to her mysery, the driver came out of his lavish Toyota Corolla saloon car and started heaving insults on her. Blaming her for being negligent and almost made him the driver run her over.

The poor girl couldn’t control her grief as tears stricked down her cheeks.

Even when other passers-by told the driver he was at fault, he just continued hurling expletives at the poor hawker.

The insensitiveness of the driver to the plight of the poor girl, who had obviously lost her daily income due to the carelessness of the driver beat my imagination.

Why is it difficult for the so-called high and mighty to apologize when they are in the wrong?

Wouldn’t it have been humanely right for the driver to console the hawker, considering the fact it was no fault of hers and a tragedy has just been avoided ?
Would the driver’s attitude have been the same if the person at the other end was in his class or society?

Whether we are high and mighty or poor, in the wrong or the right our society will be a better place if we learn to tolerate and respect each other.

NEVER GIVE UP!

Many are those instances in our lives when we have honestly giving out the very best of ourselves to no avail. Success just seems to elude us no matter how hard we try.

During these trials, especially when we have exhausted all available options and we are left with this numbness of inadequacy, the most viable action that comes to our peripheral vision is to: GIVE UP.

A learned man once said that “Consistency is the key to emotional security”. The same can also be said about success.

When you keep trying, when you are consistent in your efforts no matter the outcomes, you don’t realize the grounds you have gained. For at that point, because you are always trying despite the failures, you have become emboldened and have acquired the endurance over the seemingly failures of your attempts at success.

However, what isn’t obvious to you is that you have reached a junction where your heart no longer ache for not being able to achieve your set goals.

We become so consistent in our attempts such that it becomes part of us. So we end up happy whiles falling short of our goals.

I therefore put it to you that the real success is not in achieving your set goals but deriving real joy in your attempts.

So lovely friends, NEVER GIVE UP! CONSTANT EFFORT IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS.
